My name is Liz Weissmann. I got my start in Child Development the long way. I grew up as the default babysitter for many family and friends, and was trusted with young children while I was still a child myself.​

When it came time to choose a career though, I chose to be an Automotive Technician. I spent 10 years in the automotive industry, and when I decided to change careers, a friend recommended that with my skills I become a therapist, and recommended that I also take classes in Early Childhood Intervention so that I could seek employment in the field while going to school. 

While taking Child Development classes, everything changed for me! I had teachers who loved their jobs, and I realized that I could sing, dance, fingerpaint, and explore for a living. I could apply my hobbies to my job and do what I love for a living! 

As a teacher, I love watching children grow and learn. I believe in a developmentally appropriate, child lead approach. If children want to learn about space, I want to learn about space too.  Their curiosity will spark my own.
